Steve Jobs gave a commencement address to Stanford's Class of 2005. Steve advised the students to do what they love, and to follow their hearts and intuition. “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life,” Steve explained to the audience that morning. “And the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Three weeks ago marked my first day as a creative intern at Travers Collins. The internship came about as a result of my own research and sparked interest in the advertising/public relations realm this past summer. From there it was a few emails, a phone call, a recommendation from my supervisor at my past internship, an interview, and wham, it was September 7 and I was in my cubicle at Travers Collins sipping on coffee and enjoying my first assignment. Life was good, but my feet hurt.

Sometimes, sports transcend everything. When you put athletes on an even playing field and let their talents and destinies determine the outcome, everything else falls away – politics, hate, social strife, and the stresses of the daily grind.
Such is the 2011 Travers Collins Classic. On September 29, eight teams of TC employees will hit the bowling lanes with ice water in their veins and desire in their hearts – desire for the chance to taste the sweet nectar of victory, and hoist a $30 trophy while their co-workers weep into their beers.
